For the love of dogs

Just sneaking a quickie in here. I've just watched a programme on BBC iplayer, about dog walkers on Hampstead Heath, and it was lovely. The people interviewed had some very moving stories to tell about their circumstances and why they love their dogs. It showed how the love of a dog can be a great healer, and when things get tough it's the dog which helps them carry on. Have a look if you haven't already seen it. Maybe our overseas readers might not be able to open the link, sorry.

  3. Just watched the film about dogs. As a lifelong dog lover it just confirms my belief that owning a dog or any other pet for that matter is very comforting. They give unconditional love and companionship.

  4. Yes I saw this program, particularly moved by the couple who had lost their son but were determined that the tragic loss was not going to define them. They bought a dog and for them it helped as a distraction. Good program I enjoyed it but then my motto is Live Life Love A Labrador;-)

  6. Kate, you will love it. The couple who had lost their son was very sad, but their new dog helps them get over their loss. The woman who lives in a shelter, the single dad who was given a dog, the old lady who carries photo's of her dog around with her, the man who has five little fluffy dogs because he couldn't bear to part with the puppies, and the recovering alcoholic, all very heartwarming stories.
